Georgia Police Shoot at Woman Who Hit Officer With Car; Driver on the Run

Conley, GA. – On Monday, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation was requested by the Clayton County Police Department to investigate an officer involved shooting.

GBI officials say around 1:10 a.m., Clayton County Police Department (CCPD) officers were dispatched to 1803 Marceau Drive in Conley regarding a fight. When officers arrived, a female attempted to flee the scene in a vehicle.

The female driver backed up and struck an officer, pinning him against a marked CCPD patrol car. A CCPD officer fired at the fleeing vehicle. The vehicle was later recovered approximately one mile from the scene.

The female driver has not been located and has not been identified at this time.

The injured officer has a broken leg and he is being treated at Grady Memorial Hospital.

The investigation is ongoing.
