Fort Lauderdale — At least five people were taken to a hospital after becoming sick on a plane at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.
The Broward Fire Department responded to the American Airlines flight around 12:00. The plane was evacuated as some passengers reported feeling dizzy.
“Two pilots and three flight attendants asked to be taken to the hospital as a precaution,” according to a statement from the airline. “The aircraft is being evaluated by our maintenance team.”
The patients were transported to Broward Health Medical Center—conditions unknown.
The incident is under investigation.
