NEW YORK — Several people were injured, some critically, after a gas explosion at a home in the Bronx Thursday afternoon.

The FDNY was called to the scene near Paulding Avenue and Poplar Street around 3:20 p.m. ET.

Local media reports up to 10 people wounded, including at least 6 children. Two of the children are in critical condition.

Images from the scene show the devastation the blast caused — windows and doors were completely blown out. Video from WPIX reporter Cristian Benavides shows the front door of the home tangled in power lines across the street.

According to WCBS, four families live in the home where the blast happened.

The scene remains active.
