FLORIDA – The St. Petersburg Police Department is seeking the public’s help after the apparent random shooting deaths of two men this week. A reward of up to $5000 for information on each of the homicides is being offered through Crime Stoppers.

Vernon Williams, 60, died early Sunday, April 10, of a gunshot wound, in the 900 block of Melrose Avenue South.

Corlenzo Williams, 24, died early this morning, April 12,of a gunshot wound, in the 2900 block of 17th Avenue South.

“There does not appear to be any known association or link between the two victims and investigators believe both shootings were unprovoked,” the department said in a news release.

“We’re assuming that the suspect is just driving down the street, spotting these people walking down the street, having a conversation with these people and shooting them,” said Chief Holloway.

Anyone with information regarding either case, who wishes to remain anonymous, is eligible for a reward of up to $5000. Please contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-TIPS or www.crimestoppersofpinellas.org
