GEORGIA — Atlanta police are searching for suspects after Floyd Mayweather’s bodyguard was shot outside of a hotel early Monday. The hotel is located at 3315 Peachtree Road.
The boxer and his entourage were arriving at a hotel in Buckhead when their vehicles came under fire, police said. Cops believe Mayweather was in one of the vehicles that was targeted but was not injured.
“At this time, it appears that this was not a random shooting and the shooter was targeting the victim’s vehicle,” Atlanta police spokesman Donald Hannah told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
The bodyguard, Gregory La Rosa, was reportedly struck in the leg and is expected to survive.
The investigation is ongoing.
