WASHINGTON — (Scroll Down For Live Video) — Suspicious packages were sent to multiple high-profile democrats and liberal news organizations on Wednesday.

The U.S. Secret Service intercepted two suspicious packages addressed to Secret Service protectees. The NYPD has also evacuated CNN’s New York headquarters after the news station received a suspicious package.

The Secret Service says reports of a suspicious package addressed to The White House are untrue.

Late Tuesday, the Secret Service recovered a single package addressed to Former First Lady Hillary Clinton in Westchester County, New York. Early this morning, October 24, 2018, a second package addressed to the residence of Former President Barack Obama was intercepted by Secret Service personnel in Washington, DC.

The packages were identified during routine mail screening procedures as potential explosive devices and were appropriately handled as such, the secret service says. Both packages were intercepted prior to being delivered to their intended location.

Meanwhile, the Sunrise, Florida Police Department said an office building has been evacuated due to suspicious package in the mail. It’s the same building where the office of U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz is located, WFOR reported.

The device sent to CNN was addressed to former CIA Director John Brennan and is believed to be a pipe bomb.

“The Secret Service has initiated a full scope criminal investigation that will leverage all available federal, state, and local resources to determine the source of the packages and identify those responsible,” the agency said.

The news comes just days after a bomb was discovered at the home of George Soros.
