MANHATTAN — A huge fire was burning in the Greenwich neighborhood of New York City Wednesday evening.
FDNY crews were battling the 5-alarm blaze atop an apartment building at 60 E. 9th Street.
No injuries were immediately reported and the cause of the fire was unknown. City officials told residents in the area to go indoors.
Images posted to social media showed smoke filling the streets.
Firefighters were also seen breaking the windows of a separate building near the scene.
