TOMS RIVER, NJ — Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer says on Monday, Brick Township Police were dispatched to a home on Club House Road to conduct a welfare check on the residents there. Upon entering the home police found an eighty-year-old female and a seventy-nine-year-old male inside the residence.
Both had sustained a single gunshot wound and were pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives from the Brick Township Police Department ,the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department Crime Scene Investigation Unit responded and conducted an investigation.
Investigators say it appears that the male shot his wife before taking his own life.
The investigation is ongoing.
