A former teacher at a Los Angeles high school pleaded no contest today to sexually assaulting a student last year.
Gina Murry, 33, entered her plea to one count each of lewd act upon a child and oral copulation of a person under 16. She is expected to be sentenced to two years in state prison on Jan. 14, 2020.
In 2018, Murry, who taught at Esteban Torres High School, sexually assaulted a 15-year-old boy over a two month period, the prosecutor said.
At the time of her arrest, the Los Angeles Unified School District called the allegations “disturbing.”
