FBI Offers Reward After Bank Robber Connected to Incidents in Atlanta Area

ATLANTA—Special Agent in Charge (SAC) David J. LeValley, FBI Atlanta, in conjunction with the Dawson P.D., Clayton County P.D., and College Park P.D., is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect who robbed a Dawson, Georgia bank, tried to rob a bank in Clayton County, and robbed a hotel in College Park, Georgia.

The FBI is offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspect.

On Monday, July 3, 2017, at approximately 9:30 a.m., a lone black male wearing an orange construction style reflective vest, fake beard, sunglasses, and a boonie-style hat, entered the One South Bank, located at the 900 block of Forrester Drive, Dawson, Georgia, and announced a robbery while displaying a weapon. The robber obtained an undisclosed amount of money and departed the bank without further incident.

Investigators have since learned the same suspect is responsible for two earlier incidents:

On Thursday, June 29, 2017, at approximately 9:15 a.m., an unidentified black male attempted to rob the SunTrust Bank located at 5420 West Fayetteville Road, College Park, in Clayton County. The suspect walked into the bank and told employees he was armed and demanded money. The suspect, who was wearing an orange construction style reflective vest, fake beard, sunglasses, and a boonie-style hat, left the bank without getting any money.

That same day, Thursday, June 29, 2017, at approximately 11:00 p.m., an unidentified black male robbed the Baymont Inn and Suites hotel located at 2450 Old National Highway in College Park. The suspect pointed a gun at the front desk employee and demanded money. He was wearing a fake beard, sunglasses, and a boonie-style hat.

The suspect is described as being a black male, early to mid-30’s in age, 5’5”—5’10” in height, weighing approximately 200 lbs., with long dreadlock style hair.
