FBI: Woman Sought As Suspect In San Diego Grocery Store Bank Heists

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the San Diego Violent Crimes Task Force are seeking the public’s assistance to identify the individual responsible for two bank robberies in San Diego and La Mesa, California.

8011  University Avenue, La Mesa, California

On September 12, 2019, at approximately 2:53 p.m., a woman entered the U.S. Bank, located at 6155 El Cajon Boulevard, San Diego, California. The bank branch is located inside a grocery store. The robber presented a demand note to the teller and received a sum of cash. The robber was wearing a hat and sunglasses during the robbery in an attempt to disguise her appearance.

On September 16, 2019, at approximately 10:08 a.m., a woman entered the Wells Fargo Bank, located at 8011 University Avenue, La Mesa, California. This bank branch was also located inside a grocery store. Similar to the first robbery, the robber, while wearing similar clothing (hat and sunglasses) to the first robbery, presented a demand note and received a sum of cash.

Investigators believe the same individual is responsible for both the September 12 and September 16 bank robberies.

Witnesses have described the robber as follows:

  • Sex: Female
  • Race: White
  • Hair: Blonde
  • Age: 20s
  • Height: 5’6” tall
  • Build: Medium
  • Face: Thin
  • Clothing: Gray long sleeved sweater, black yoga pants, black sunglasses, black hat
  • Weapon: None seen during robbery
