Florida HS teacher arrested after police say she had “inappropriate contact with one or more members of the student body”

A Florida High School employee was arrested Sunday in Bay County and is charged with having inappropriate contact with students, the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office announced:

On 10/5/2021, Calhoun County Sheriff‘s Office was contacted by the Administration of Blountstown High School in reference to allegations of inappropriate communications between a school employee and students.

An investigation into the allegations was initiated, during which multiple students were contacted and interviewed.

At the conclusion of the investigation, the information that was gathered was presented to State Attorney’s Office.

Subsequently, arrest warrants for Tessa Garnett were applied for and granted for two counts of F.S.S. 800.101 Offenses against Students by Authority Figures.

Garnett was taken into custody Sunday morning at a residence in Bay County.

According to reports, Garnett sent text messages or Instagram DMs to one or more students at the high school. The nature of those messages was not revealed.
