FLORIDA KEYS — A 38-year-old Big Pine Key man was killed Sunday after a car he was working on fell on top of him.
Amer Izzo Yasin of 29034 Geranium Drive was found by his roommate about 5:24 p.m. Yasin appeared to be working on a 2013 Hyundai Genesis car that was being lifted by hydraulic jacks. One of the mechanical jacks appeared to have fallen, causing the car to fall onto Yasin.
The roommate said he left at 10 a.m. and returned after 5 p.m. with groceries. The roommate found Yasin under the car and tried to pull Yasin free, but was unable to do so. The roommate called 911.
Responding paramedics pronounced Yasin dead at the scene.
There were no signs of foul play.
The autopsy is pending.
