LOS ANGELES — A former Lakewood High School teacher was sentenced to three years in state prison for sexually abusing a student over a three-year period.
Deputy District Attorney Troy Davis said Mary Jahn, 53, of Lakewood also was ordered to register as a sex offender for the rest of her life.
On Nov. 9, Jahn pleaded no contest to one count of lewd act upon a child.
The defendant engaged in a three-year sexual relationship starting in July 2008 with a 15-year-old female student while she was a teacher at Lakewood High School, the prosecutor said. In 2017, the now adult victim alerted authorities about the sexual abuse.
The case was investigated by the Long Beach Police Department.
