Norcross, Ga. – The Gwinnett Police Department has charged Oluwadamilola Imafiabor, 29, with second degree murder and cruelty to children after they say she failed to seek medical attention for her one-year-old son.

On Christmas day, officers responded to 231 Seasons Pkwy and found the 1-year-old child dead.

According to police, Imafiabor “reported the child was run over by a truck on December 24, 2021, while playing outside. Initially, she stated the child appeared to be fine after the incident but died later during the night. An autopsy was performed on the child, and the injuries appear to be inconsistent with the story provided by Imafiabor.”

“That just hurts my heart,” Jazmyn Dzansi, a neighbor, told WAGA. “A baby. That’s so tragic, so sad. Hopefully (Imafiabor) is put away and can get some mental help because you have to be disturbed to do that to a baby.”

Police didn’t reveal the child’s name or a possible motive for the alleged killing.
