GOLD HEIST: Thieves Make Off With $100M In Gold From Canada’s Largest Airport: Report

Peel Region investigators are getting help from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) to investigate a gold heist at Toronto Pearson International Airport, where gold mined in Canada is often transported for shipment worldwide.

According to the Toronto Sun, local organized crime gangs are suspected of stealing 3,600 pounds of gold worth $105 million from airline cargo earlier in the week.

he RCMP officers are still gathering information on the heist, and Peel Regional Police are expected to release further details at 6:30 p.m. ET.
