Philadelphia police were responding to an active shooter incident Wednesday in the city’s Nicetown neighborhood. The gunfire broke out as cops were conducting a narcotics investigation.
Dozens of squad cars were on the scene at 3700 N 15th Street.
According to a police spokesperson, the shooter(s) were firing at police from inside a building. At least five police officers have shot.
Several narcotics officers were reportedly inside the building with the shooter. The gunman was also shooting through the first floor ceiling in an apparent attempt to injure the officers.
