CALIFORNIA — Officers with the Long Beach police department have arrested an alleged assailant after a woman was beaten to death Monday afternoon.
The scene is in the 6400 block of Obispo Avenue.
Local media reports the woman was walking down the street when the unidentified suspect began attacking her. A Good Samaritan was trying to help when the attacker retrieved a ‘Bird’ electric-type scooter from a nearby yard and continued his brutal assault.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. A motive for the crime was not known.
