SPRING, Texas — On Friday, deputies with Constable Mark Herman’s Office responded to the 1000 block of Imperial Lake Drive in reference to a welfare check. The witness advised that while she was in her garage, a 8 year old boy approached her and stated that he needed help and if he could stay with her.
Upon deputies arriving, the boy was observed with a bloody nose, a busted lip and without a shirt or shoes. The boy advised he was living under a bridge and did not know where his parents were. Constable Deputies also noticed additional unexplained injuries to the boy and he appeared to be malnourished.
During the investigation, the mother, identified as Mercy Amador and step father, William Garcia were located along with three other children ages 6, 9 and 12 years old. The 9 and 12 year old appeared to have the same injuries and also appeared to be malnourished.
Constable Deputies interviewed Mercy and she confessed to abusing the children. Child Protective Services was notified and took possession of the children.
They were arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Injury to a Child. Mercy Amador was charged with two counts and her bond was set at $15,000.00 out of the 232nd District Court. William Garcia’s bond was set at $10,000.00 out of the 182nd District Court.
