On New Year’s day, officers responded to a home near Warm Springs Road and I-215 where a homeowner captured a suspicious situation on a home surveillance video.
The video shows that at 12:48 a.m., a woman is seen running from a white sedan. She runs to a house where she begins to bang on the door and scream for help. A man exits the vehicle, runs to her and begins to hit and kick her as he drags her into the vehicle.
Police arrested Darnell Rodgers, 23, on Jan. 2.
Rodgers faces charges of kidnapping and domestic battery, according to police. According to jail records, Rodgers’ first court appearance was set for Jan. 3.
The woman was found safe. Police did not reveal the relationship between the suspect and victim.
