NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Frightening crimes Tuesday afternoon at the Hyatt Place hotel near Brentwood victimized two innocent female clerks.

Just after 3 p.m., two men with guns entered the hotel lobby and demanded money from the register. They wore black clothing and their faces were covered. After the victims complied with the money demand, one of the robbers held one of the victims at gunpoint while the other robber sexually assaulted the second woman. The two men fled the hotel property on foot to a nearby apartment complex. They were seen leaving the area in an orange Ford Mustang.

Midtown Hills Precinct officers were on the scene quickly and relayed the description of the getaway car to officers throughout the city. North Precinct Officers Justin Vaughn and Bryan Musgrave spotted the Mustang on the interstate and followed it as it exited onto Rosa Parks Boulevard and continued to the Metro Center area. The Mustang pulled into the parking lot of Wise Burger where its two occupants, Louis Steele, 25, and Tony Gooch, 26, were detained. The victims picked out both men during show-ups.

Steele is being charged with aggravated rape, aggravated robbery, and aggravated assault. Gooch is being charged with aggravated robbery and aggravated assault.
