High school teacher facing child molestation, other charges

CLAY COUNTY, Alabama — After the recent arrest of a teacher with the Randolph County School system, Clay County Sheriff Jim Studdard, became aware of numerous social media posts alleging improper behavior between a teacher at Clay Central High School and female students.

An investigation was initiated that day where each allegation of improper conduct was to be investigated individually. Investigators from the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, Lineville Police Department, Ashland Police Department and the Alabama State Bureau of Investigations have been working together to develop this case.

As a result of their collaborative efforts an arrest warrant was obtained through the Clay County District Attorney’s Office for the arrest of Jason Michael Anderson. Jason Michael Anderson was arrested on 03/08/19 and charged with Sexual Abuse in the second degree, Electronic Solicitation of a minor, and Child Molestation.

Jason Michael Anderson was booked into the Clay County Detention Facility on a $55,000.00 bond.

Sheriff Jim Studdard stated that while an arrest has been made the investigation is still ongoing and it is believed that there may be other victims or witnesses who have not come forward.
