KENSINGTON, Md. – Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department have arrested and charged Reginald Dunlap Jr., age 43, of the 11600 block of College View Drive in North Kensington, for the first-degree murder of his wife, Lauren Elizabeth Charles, age 40.
Charles was discovered dead in her home on March 7.
Police say around 1:30 p.m., on Sunday, 911 received a call from Dunlap Jr. stating that he found his wife dead in their home. Responding officers located Charles deceased inside the home with “trauma to her body.”
During the investigation, detectives say they identified Dunlap Jr. as the suspect.
Charles’ body was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore where an autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of her death.
Dunlap Jr. is being held without bond.
