BALTIMORE – A Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13) gang member associated with the Los Angeles Crazy Salvatruchas clique and wanted in El Salvador was removed from the U.S. Friday by deportation officers with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO.)

Saul Ernesto Orellana-Jandres, 25, is wanted by Salvadoran authorities for membership to a terrorist organization.

On Friday, he departed the U.S. from Alexandria International Airport in Louisiana escorted by ERO deportation officers via an ICE Air Operations charter. He was transferred to El Salvadoran law enforcement authorities upon his arrival to San Salvador International Airport.

“Individuals who are wanted by foreign governments for criminal activity—as in this case, an alien charged with membership in a terrorist organization—have absolutely no place in our country,” said ERO Baltimore Field Office Director Diane Witte. “Orellana can no longer hide from justice in his home country, and certainly will no longer find safe haven in our neighborhoods here in the U.S.”

Orellana entered the U.S. on an unknown date at an unknown location without being admitted or paroled. On July 27, 2018, ICE ERO officers alongside ICE Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) agents in Baltimore encountered Orellana and issued him a notice to appear before an immigration judge. Orellana was ordered removed to El Salvador on Dec. 7, 2018.
