Buffalo Grove, Illinois – The Village of Buffalo Grove hosted a press conference this afternoon where Police Chief Brian Budds shared known facts regarding the ongoing death investigation and Lake County Coroner Jennifer Banek shared new information regarding her office’s examination.
“On behalf of the men and women of the Buffalo Grove Police Department along with the entire Village board and staff, our sincerest and heartfelt condolences go out to the families of the victims of this tragic incident. Today is a very sad day for our community as we continue to process this unthinkable event,” said Chief Budds.
“I want to thank the responding officers of the Buffalo Grove Police and Fire Departments for their service and dedication in handling this traumatic investigation. I also would like to thank the Lake County Major Crime Task Force along with the Lake County Coroner’s Office for their invaluable assistance with this investigation which remains active and ongoing,” Budds continued.
Chief Budds then provided an overview of the incident, including information that police know and can confirm without compromising the integrity of the investigation.
“To reiterate last night’s media release – Yesterday, November 30th at 11:12 a.m., Buffalo Grove police were dispatched to a single-family residence in the 2800 block of Acacia Terrace following a call for a wellbeing check on an adult female. Upon arrival, police were unable to make contact with anyone inside the home. Forced entry was deemed necessary, and a sweep of the home was conducted. Five deceased individuals were found. The preliminary investigation indicates this was a domestic-related incident, and there remains no threat to the public.”
Lake County Coroner Jennifer Banek then shared that so far the completed autopsies show the cause of death is sharp force injuries.
The victims include:
• Andrei Kisliak – 39 years old
• Vera Kisliak – 36 years old
• Vivian Kisliak – 6 years old
• Lilia Kisliak – 67 years old
• Amilia Kisliak – 4 years old
The investigation is ongoing.
