A 62-year-old man was recently found dead inside a cooking device called a “steamer machine” at a Bumble Bee Tuna factory in Los Angeles in 2012. Paramedics declared him dead at the scene.

From KIRO: “Melena was inside a 35-foot oven for maintenance when other workers loaded about six tons of tuna into it, then shut the door and turned it on.
Melena cooked to death as the pressure cooker reached 270 degrees, and his remains were found by another worker.”

Officials said Jose Melena was essentially cooked to death.

Two workers at the plant were charged with three felony counts of violating safety and health regulations that resulted in a death.
