Arizona man arrested after boyfriend found dead with disturbing signs of trauma

Peoria, ARIZONA — On February 19, around 5:00 pm, Peoria Police received a 911 call from a female stating that she entered her brothers home in the 7300 block of W. Montgomery Road to check on him since her brother had not been heard from for several weeks. When she entered, she found a man deceased on the second floor of the residence. She exited the house and called 911.

Officers arrived on scene and located the victim, a 59-year-old male who was deceased in a bedroom on the second floor of the residence. The victim appeared to have trauma to his head and an electrical cord wrapped around his neck. It appeared that the victim had been deceased for approximately two weeks in the house.

Through investigation, it was found that the victim was in a relationship with a male who lived at the residence but was not there upon officer arrival. There was a history of domestic violence calls at the residence involving the two males. Detectives were unable to locate the male that night but were able to do so the next day.

On February 20, less than 24-hours after the original call detectives located and arrested 26-year-old Christopher Jones. Jones was interviewed at the Peoria Police Department and admitted to assaulting and killing the victim. Jones was processed and later booked into the 4th Avenue jail on murder charges.
