CUMBERLAND COUNTY, MAINE — Since Monday, October 1, the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office, the Maine State Police and the Maine Warden Service have been conducting a search for a missing North Yarmouth Woman and school teacher Kristen Westra.
On Saturday, around 10:30 am the Cumberland County Regional Communications Center received a telephone call reporting that a body was found by children in a wooded area off of Gray Road in North Yarmouth.
Investigators from the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office, the Maine State Police and the Maine Warden Serve immediately responded to the scene and confirmed the report.
The Office of Chief Maine Medical Examiner determined it was the body of Westra. The cause of death has been ruled a suicide–no further details were released.
