Mother fatally struck while pushing stroller in Tampa, 3 arrested for street racing

FLORIDA — Tampa Police have made three arrests in the vehicle vs pedestrian accident that resulted in the death of a 24-year-old mother and serious injuries to her 21-month-old daughter Wednesday.

A 2018 black Ford Mustang driven by Cameron Herrin was driving northbound on Bayshore Boulevard. Witnesses said the Mustang was traveling at a high rate of speed and was racing another northbound vehicle. Tristan Herrin was a passenger in the Mustang. The other vehicle engaged in the racing was a gold Nissan driven by John Barrineau. Witnesses said that at times the cars were side by side, and at other times they switched places and switched lanes.

The Mustang driven by Cameron Herrin struck the victims who were crossing Bayshore Boulevard near W Knights Avenue. Victim Jessica Reisinger, 24, of Jeromesville, Ohio was pushing her daughter, Lillia, in a stroller when they both were struck. Both victims were transported to Tampa General Hospital. Jessica Reisinger was declared dead at the hospital. Lillia Raubenolt sustained serious injuries.

The drivers of the two cars – Cameron Herrin and John Barrineau – face charges of street racing, vehicular homicide, and reckless driving resulting in serious bodily injury. Tristan Herrin, the passenger in the Mustang, faces one count of racing.
