NEW YORK — NBC Is Ending Its Business Relationship With Donald Trump After His Comments About Latinos:

In a statement, NBC says, “At NBC, respect and dignity for all people are cornerstones of our values. Due to the recent derogatory statements by Donald Trump regarding immigrants, NBCUniversal is ending its business relationship with Mr. Trump.

To that end, the annual Miss USA and Miss Universe Pageants, which are part of a joint venture between NBC and Trump, will no longer air on NBC. In addition, as Mr. Trump has already indicated, he will not be participating in ‘The Apprentice’ on NBC. ‘Celebrity Apprentice’ is licensed from Mark Burnett’s United Artists Media Group and that relationship will continue.”

The statement comes after “derogatory statements” Trump made regarding illegal immigrants.

Univision, which typically airs Miss USA in conjunction with NBC, announced last week that it would not show the July 12 ceremony. For its part, NBC had released a statement saying, “Donald Trump’s opinions do not represent those of NBC, and we do not agree with his positions on a number of issues, including his recent comments on immigration.” Since then, however, a petition for NBC to end its relationship with Trump has gained hundreds of thousands of signatures, leading to Monday’s decision.
