ARIZONA — A 34-year-old Phoenix woman shot and killed a would-be intruder at her home Tuesday night, police say.
The case is being treated as a homicide but no charges have been filed against the woman.
AZ Central reported: Witnesses told police the man grabbed the woman as she was trying to enter her residence in the 19400 block of Seventh Street shortly after 11 p.m., according to Sgt. Mercedes Fortune, a Phoenix police spokeswoman.
The woman tried to close the door as the man repeatedly attempted to force his way in. Once inside, she retrieved a gun and shot at him, Fortune said.
The suspect fled the area but later died at a hospital—the unidentified woman was not injured.
