Just hours after Kanye West wore a ‘Make America Great Again’ hat on ‘Saturday Night Live,’ the rapper called for the Abolishing of the 13th Amendment—calling it slavery in disguise.
West tweeted a photo of himself wearing the hat with the caption: “This represents good and America becoming whole again. We will no longer outsource to other countries. We build factories here in America and create jobs. We will provide jobs for all who are free from prisons as we abolish the 13th amendment. Message sent with love”

He then clarified, “the 13th Amendment is slavery in disguise meaning it never ended We are the solution that heals.” […] “not abolish but. let’s amend the 13th amendment. We apply everyone’s opinions to our platform”

Following his performance on SNL, West spoke about his support for President Trump.
President Trump Tweeted following Kanye’s SNL appearance (before the 13th Amendment tweet): “Like many, I don’t watch Saturday Night Live (even though I past hosted it) – no longer funny, no talent or charm. It is just a political ad for the Dems. Word is that Kanye West, who put on a MAGA hat after the show (despite being told “no”), was great. He’s leading the charge!”

The Thirteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution abolished slavery and involuntary servitude, except as punishment for a crime. In Congress, it was passed by the Senate on April 8, 1864, and by the House on January 31, 1865. The amendment was ratified by the required number of states on December 6, 1865.
