HIGH SPRINGS, Fla. – Two missing children from Missouri were located inside a Florida grocery store on Wednesday, a year after their disappearance.

The High Springs Police Department reported that they were found with their non-custodial mother, Kristi Gilley, 36, while shopping at a Winn-Dixie store near Gainesville.

Officers were checking car tags in the parking lot when they found one registered to Gilley, a wanted fugitive.

All three had disguised their identities, officials said.

Gilley was arrested on a warrant for kidnapping from Clay County, Missouri and was issued in July 2022. The children, Brooke, 10, and Adrian, 12, were last seen in March and were believed to be in California with Kristi.

They were handed over to the Florida Department of Children and Families Services and will be reunited with their custodial family.
