INDIANAPOLIS – Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) Sex Crimes detectives have arrested 40-year-old Harlon Graves of Indianapolis for his alleged involvement in a child molestation case.

Just before 2:30 a.m., on November 1, 2018 officers were called to the 4800 block of E. New York Street on a report of a male who had been found in the complainants’ 10-year-old granddaughters bed. When officers arrived they were given a good description of the alleged suspect. Officers were advised that after the male was confronted he ran out of the back door.

Officers and Sex Crimes detectives worked relentlessly to determine who the male in question was and after a thorough investigation detectives were able to identify the suspect as 40-year-old Harlon Graves. During the interview with Graves, detectives questioned him about another incident which occurred on October 31, 2018. Where a man had climbed into a home in the 600 block of Jefferson Avenue and inappropriately touched a teenager. When confronted, the male climbed back out of the window and fled the home. It was determined that Graves was the suspect in that investigation as well. Graves was arrested and charged with burglary (2), sexual misconduct with a minor and child molestation.

Sex Crimes Detectives said, “We were alerted to the suspect by several tips that were called into Crime Stoppers and likely wouldn’t have succeeded without the public’s assistance. This case is a great example of the police and community working together to get a dangerous person off of the street.”
