CLEVELAND, Ohio — A man and an alligator are in custody after a SWAT standoff in Cleveland.
The bizarre incident unfolded when police responded to a domestic disturbance call in the 7900 block of Cornelia Avenue on Thursday.
According to police, the suspect barricaded himself in the home with the animal and a SWAT team was called in.
A SWAT member entered the home and laid down on the gator while other officers taped the animal’s mouth shut.
According to WKYC, The alligator was then taken to the Cleveland City Kennel, where it is being held in a cage with a small pool of water.
Police didn’t say what charges the suspect (or gator) are facing.
