Man Arrested For Domestic Dispute Urinates In Police Interview Room

NEW YORK — State Police in Wilton arrested 35-year-old Adam J. Belair of Gansevoort, for Aggravated Family Offense, Criminal Trespass, Criminal Mischief, Resisting Arrest, Criminal Contempt, and Criminal Tampering.

On January 20, 2020, State Police responded to a residence in the Town of Moreau for a domestic dispute during which Belair was accused of entering the victim’s home and refusing to leave, violating an order of protection. Belair was also accused of taking the victim’s cell phone so that they could not call police.

Belair was located asleep in a bedroom at the residence, and resisted arrest as patrols attempted to place him in custody. He was ultimately secured and transported to SP Wilton where he was interviewed and processed. Belair was issued an appearance ticket for Moreau Town Court on February 5, 2020 at 9:00 a.m.

When Troopers reviewed the video recording of Belair’s interview, they discovered that Belair had urinated in the corner of the station interview room.

On January 27, 2020, Belair was located and additionally charged with Criminal Tampering 3rd degree. He was issued an appearance ticket for Wilton Town Court on February 11, 2020 at 11:00 a.m.
