Man Dies after Altercation Inside Hollywood Night Club

Hollywood, CALIFORNIA — The Los Angeles Police Department Detectives are investigating an assault that ultimately became a possible homicide.

On Saturday, August 22, 2015, between 12:15 a.m. and 12:45 a.m. Los Angeles Police Department officers responded to calls of a brawl at the “Cashmere Club”.

Officers arrived and discovered Jose Manuel Silva Nieves, 20, of Maywood, had collapsed after being involved in a physical altercation in the club.

The Los Angeles Fire Department arrived and transported Mr. Nieves to a local hospital where he was declared brain dead on Sunday, August 23, 2015.

The cause of death is pending a determination by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner– Coroner. This case is currently being investigated as a possible homicide.
