Man in custody for attempted murder after burning woman, police say

ROSEVILLE, Calif. –On Saturday, at 10:55 p.m. Roseville Police responded to a call for service at a home in the 1800 block of South Cirby Way. When officers arrived on scene they found an adult female who had been severely injured.

The initial investigation uncovered that the victim’s partner had intentionally burned the victim. The victim was transported to the hospital with life threatening injuries. The victim is alive but remains in critical condition.

The suspect, who had fled the scene, was identified as Richard R. Frederiksen, 48, of Roseville.

Officers quickly began searching for Frederiksen. He was eventually located and taken into custody. Frederiksen is currently being held at the South Placer Jail without the possibility of bail on several charges including attempted murder and inflicting corporal injury.
