WASHINGTON, D.C. — Officers in Prince George’s County, Maryland are investigating a domestic-related murder/suicide in Upper Marlboro. The victim is 55-year-old Dannette Lawrence of Meadow Lark Avenue in Upper Marlboro. The deceased suspect is 59-year-old Derrick Lark of the 3900 block of Alta Vista Drive in Mitchellville. The suspect was the victim’s ex-boyfriend.
On August 12th, at about 2:15 pm, a family member called 911 to report a domestic dispute inside of a home in the 9600 block of Meadow Lark Avenue. When the officers arrived, they found the victim and the suspect each suffering from a gunshot wound. Both were pronounced dead on the scene.
Investigators believe Lark shot and killed Lawrence before taking his own life.
