Man opens fire on ATM with shotgun, gets no money

FAIRFAX, VA – Detectives are searching for this suspect who shot an ATM with a shotgun in an unsuccessful attempt to get money. Officers were called to the BB&T bank in the 8600 block of Richmond Highway around 11 a.m. Sunday after a customer walked up to the ATM and realized pieces of it were missing and scattered on the ground. Surveillance footage revealed the machine had been shot around 4:45 a.m. The suspect is believed to have left the area in a 4-door sedan.
