LOS ANGELES — A man pled not guilty today for shooting his mother, fatally shooting his uncle and severely beating his grandmother.

Tyree Dubois Jones, 34, is charged with one count of murder and two counts of attempted murder. Jones committed the crime while out on bail in another case.

On the evening of June 19, Jones is accused of shooting his mother twice with a shotgun at her home near 105th Street and Budlong Avenue, then walking to his uncle’s house next door and shooting him. Following that, Jones allegedly went to his grandmother’s adjacent home where he punched and kicked her multiple times.

Police arrived and arrested him.

His uncle, Ivan Harge, died at the scene. His mother and grandmother were taken to local hospitals with serious injuries.

Jones faces a possible maximum sentence of 96 years to life in state prison if convicted as charged.

Prosecutors are requesting that bail be set at more than $6 million.
