TENMILE, OREGON — A sleeping man in the grass was killed early Tuesday after being hit by a mowing Oregon Department of Transportation employee.
The incident happened around 9:15 a.m. off Highway 42 near Milepost 59 in Douglas County.
According to KPTV, Investigators said an ‘ODOT employee was mowing the grass adjacent to the eastbound shoulder when he hit a man who was on the ground. It is believed the man was sleeping in the grass.’
The unidentified victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Oregon State Police are investigating.
