Man Stabs 2, Runs Car Into Crowd of Pedestrians on Queens Sidewalk, 1 Dead

QUEENS — Around 4:30AM two people were stabbed and a total of six people were struck by a vehicle in the vicinity of Liberty Avenue and 128th street in Richmond Hill section of Queens. Police say the incident was precipitated by a parking dispute in front of XS Hookah Lounge, located at 127-10 Liberty Avenue.

The driver of a white Hyundai sedan exited the vehicle and stabbed two individuals, both stabbed in the torso. During the ensuing dispute, involving a group of people who were outside the lounge, the white Hyundai sedan then drove from the scene and mounted the sidewalk approximately half a block away at 128th street. Six individuals were struck by the vehicle, resulting in one fatality. All of the other victims are hospitalized, with one individual listed in critical condition at this time. At this point one individual, believed to be the occupant of the white Hyundai sedan is in custody.

The vehicle has been recovered in another area of Queens. Detectives are conducting crime scene examination, interviewing victims and witnesses, and searching for video evidence.
