LAS VEGAS – Hunter Holman is facing new charges related to hate crimes after he was accused of accelerating his car and shouting racial slurs at a Black family in a racially-motivated altercation, police say.

According to documents, Holman now faces several hate-related charges in connection with multiple incidents.

The first incident occurred on July 9, when Las Vegas Metro police received a report of a stabbing near the Marriot Grand Chateaux. A witness reported seeing Holman driving his car on Harmon Avenue and shouting racial slurs at a group of Black people walking on the sidewalk. Surveillance footage showed Holman accelerating towards the group, getting out of his car and charging at them.

Holman was arrested on July 29 and charged with assault with a deadly weapon motivated by bias or hatred towards the victim, as well as child abuse or neglect. Despite evidence to the contrary, Holman denied using any racial slurs and claimed he was just having a bad day, KLAS reported.

In a more recent incident, authorities in Arkansas alerted Las Vegas police that Holman had allegedly threatened Black people with an AR-15 at a fitness center in Little Rock. Investigators also suspect Holman of making several racially motivated threats in Las Vegas since at least last summer, including threatening a former employer and calling a hotel to threaten someone with his rifle.

During the investigation, police discovered that Holman had stayed at a second hotel in the Las Vegas area, where an employee reported finding a goat head in the freezer along with an extensive collection of knives. The employee also claimed that Holman had invited them to join his group, stating that he was the king of the KKK.

Las Vegas police nabbed Holman on Feb. 23.
