Man Who Claimed He Raped a Newborn Arrested After Trying To Meet 5-Year-Old

A Box Elder, South Dakota, man was charged in federal district court with Enticement of a Minor Using the Internet.

Adam Swift, age 30, was charged on March 25, 2020. He pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The charge relates to Swift communicating with the parent of 5-year-old girl, but who was in fact an undercover agent, with the purpose of engaging in sexual activity with the child.

Swift allegedly told agents he was sexually “active” with two young boys under 10. He also told special agents he had sexually assaulted a newborn girl.

The penalty upon conviction is a mandatory minimum of 10 years up to life in federal prison and/or a $250,000 fine, a mandatory minimum of 5 years up to lifetime supervised release, and a $100 assessment to the Federal Crime Victims Fund.
