Old habits die hard.
From November 2012 to January 2013, the city of Chino Hills, California experienced more than 20 residential burglaries with similarities leading investigators to believe they were committed by the same person. An investigation lead to the arrest of Diego Aguirre.
Aguirre was found to have committed burglaries in Claremont, Rancho Cucamonga, Upland, Chino Hills and Riverside in which he stole women’s panties, among other items. On October 28, 2014, Aguirre was convicted of nine counts of burglary and one count of possession of stolen property. Aguirre was sentenced to 17 years in state prison. Aguirre was released on parole in April 2020, after serving seven years.
In January 2021, Chino Hills investigators recognized the same pattern associated with Aguirre in new residential burglaries committed in Chino Hills in December and January. Investigators found there were numerous residential burglaries Aguirre was suspected of committing in Claremont, Rancho Cucamonga and Chino Hills.
On January 28, 2021, members of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department arrested Aguirre after he committed a burglary in Fontana. Aguirre was booked at West Valley Detention Center for burglary and parole violations.

Aguirre was known to steal women’s underwear as well as other personal items. Investigators believe there are possibly unidentified victims and are requesting contact from victim’s who had female underwear stolen in a residential burglary.
