STUART, FLORIDA – Martin County Sheriff’s Detectives have made an arrest in last week’s violent home invasion and rape of a senior citizen which occurred in the private community of Hidden Harbor Estates off of SE St. Lucie Boulevard and East of Dixie Highway.
The victim told detectives she was awakened by a masked man inside her home around 3:00 AM Wednesday morning and then raped.
20-year old Marvin Ailon-Mendoza was arrested and charged with the rape and armed home invasion of the 82-year old woman.
Detectives were able to get a positive DNA hit on Mendoza from forensic evidence collected at the crime scene. A task force of 25-detectives and patrol deputies were searching for Mendoza after obtaining an arrest warrant Tuesday afternoon.
On Wednesday, a judge set bond at $200,000 for the sexual battery charge, $200,000 for the burglary charge, and $120,000 for the false imprisonment charge.
