Georgetown, Indiana – Police in southern Indiana conducted a two-day search for a 14-year-old girl who had gone missing.

The search ended on Wednesday when authorities discovered that the teenager was staying in a shed located in Attica.

Terry Ross Jr., 18, was identified by the Floyd County Sheriff’s Department as a person of interest in the girl’s disappearance.

On Wednesday, Attica police located Ross walking on Council Street near the intersection of Washington Street and took him into custody.

“Officers gained information that the juvenile female was staying in a shed behind a residence in Attica,” the Attica Police Department said. “Officers responded to that area and located the juvenile. Officers transported the juvenile female to the Attica Police Department where she was reunited with her father.”

Ross has been charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor under the age of 16.

The girl, who had been missing since early Monday morning, was believed to be in “extreme danger” and in the company of Ross.

The search for her was statewide, as she was missing from Georgetown, Indiana, which is near Louisville.

The shed where she was found was nearly 200 miles from where she had gone missing.

It was unclear how the victim and suspect originally came in contact.
