POLK COUNTY, NC — On Friday, around 12:15 P.M. an infant was found discarded in a black bag in the parking lot of the Trinity Lutheran Church on U.S. Hwy. 176 in Tryon, NC.
The mother of the 6 month old child is Heather Lynn Walsh.
Due to the nature of the injuries the child had sustained, an initial warrant for Child Abuse/Endangerment/Neglect was obtained by Investigators on Friday March 27th.
Walsh was given a $5,000.00 Secure Bond by the Magistrate and released upon making bond shortly after noon today, Saturday March 28, 2020.
The child is in emergency custody of the Department of Social Services and still under medical care.
