Multiple Hit-&-Run Vehicles Kill Mom In Front of Young Son on New Jersey Interstate

Camden, N.J. – The New Jersey State Police is seeking the public’s assistance with identifying two vehicles involved in a hit-and-run crash that claimed the life of Crystal Kelley, 46, of Princeton, N.J.

On Monday, November 12, at approximately 4:44 a.m., Kelley was operating a GMC Terrain northbound on I-676 in Camden City, Camden County when she was involved in a crash that left her vehicle disabled in the left lane against the concrete median barrier. Kelley and her 13-year-old son exited the vehicle, climbed over the median barrier, and proceeded to walk across the northbound lanes of I-676.

Kelley was then struck by three vehicles as she attempted to cross. The second vehicle remained at the scene after the crash, but the first and third vehicles continued traveling northbound on I-676. She was transported to Cooper University Hospital in Camden where she was pronounced deceased. Kelley’s son sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the initial crash, but was not injured while crossing the highway.

The first car that struck Kelley was described as dark in color. The third vehicle was described as a dark-colored Nissan Maxima, model year 2009-2015.
